Questions and answers about 2048
Do I need quick reactions to play 2048?
No. This version has no time limit, and tiles move only when you give a direction. You can stop to consider the next move. If you prefer a puzzle with increasing pressure, Hextris uses rotating color matches and a faster pace; it is a different game rather than another 2048 level.
Can three equal tiles combine into one during a move?
No. A matching pair combines once. The remaining tile waits for a later move, and a newly created tile cannot merge again in the same turn. With three 4 tiles in a row, a left move produces an 8 followed by a 4, before the new random tile is added.
Why does a new tile appear after a board move?
A move that changes the board adds a new tile to an available square. This is part of the original rules and keeps each turn from simply clearing the board. A move that changes nothing does not add a tile. Leave spare space so that a new tile has somewhere useful to land.
Is progress saved to my Cozcade account?
The original game keeps its current board and best score in browser storage. That is separate from Cozcade account favorites and does not synchronize your board across devices. Clearing site data, using a private window, or switching browsers can remove or separate this local game progress.
Who made this version of 2048?
