Read the change after each opening action
At the beginning, use Light Fire and then the available Stoke Fire action. After each action, read the changing text and inspect which controls or resources have appeared. The useful exercise is to notice a new option, not to repeat the opening button indefinitely. A Dark Room develops through changes in its interface, so observation is part of the interaction rather than background decoration.
When a new control appears, read its label and the visible resource information before choosing it. Try one change and observe the result. This approach keeps the opening understandable without a spoiler-heavy list of later discoveries. If you return after a break, inspect the current interface first; do not assume it is still at the same stage or that an instruction for the opening is the right instruction for your current position.
Separate waiting, missed information and a loading failure
If you feel stuck, check whether the interface has introduced a new button, a resource change or a piece of text you skipped. Those clues suggest a gameplay decision. A page that has not loaded the game at all is a different problem and belongs with the troubleshooting guidance on the play page. Refreshing repeatedly is not a substitute for reading a changed interface and can make it harder to understand the sequence you observed.
The Cozcade edition uses local progress and is presented without audio. Local progress is not a cloud account shared automatically between devices. This center stays near the opening experience and does not reveal every later event, route or ending. For your next session, choose a simple habit: read after each action, note the newest option, or check a resource before using it. The guide checklist itself does not advance the story, change resources or save a separate copy of the game.
A simple review note can contain the action you chose, the text that changed and the new option you noticed. For example, after stoking the fire, inspect the interface and describe what is now available before deciding what to do next. Keep the note tied to your observed state rather than a later event described elsewhere. When returning to the game, read the interface against that note. This makes the early progression easier to follow and preserves the discovery aspect, without requiring a list of later story events or claiming a particular timed outcome.
