Building a virtual service network

Choose survival, campaign or sandbox mode, then place services from the toolbar and connect the network.

Following the traffic path through a network

Build a small path from Internet through Firewall and Load Balancer to Compute before adding Database or Storage.

Trace a complete request path

Choose the mode deliberately: survival, campaign and sandbox set different expectations for the session. In the visible system, trace the route from Internet through the relevant firewall and load balancer to compute and the database or storage it needs. Check actual connections. Placing two components close together does not by itself establish the connected path that the simulation uses.

For a practice setup, build a small arrangement you can explain before adding more components. Follow one request route and identify what each stage is doing in that arrangement. If the view is crowded, use right-drag to pan and the wheel to zoom, as described on the play page. Moving the camera helps inspection, but it does not fix a missing connection. Keep navigation, placement and connection checks as separate tasks while learning the interface.

Review a system failure before expanding it

When the simulation behaves unexpectedly, start with the route you intended to create. Is there a continuous connection? Does it reach the compute component and its required service? Did the last edit change that path? Inspecting those questions gives you a concrete reason for the next change. Adding capacity everywhere can hide the original mistake without teaching you which part of the arrangement mattered.

Compare attempts within the same mode and its displayed objective. A layout that is interesting in sandbox is not automatically a successful campaign or survival strategy. This is a browser simulation of infrastructure decisions, not a connection to a real cloud account or a source of billable server resources. The guide does not calculate a real provider's costs or promise a production architecture. Its checklist helps you choose an inspection habit for the next simulated system, while the game page provides the actual controls and mode explanation.

For a small diagnostic exercise, inspect a path with Internet, a firewall, a load balancer and compute, then check the connection to the service the compute stage needs. Describe each link you can see. If an intended connection is absent, correct that one link and observe the result before adding a new component. If the route is intact, use the current mode feedback to decide the next question. The exercise teaches you to explain a visible simulated path; it is not a benchmark of real hosting capacity or a recommendation to recreate the arrangement on a cloud account.

Server Survival questions and answers

Will this create real cloud resources?

No. Server Survival runs a virtual network inside the game and does not deploy a server for you.

Which mode should I choose?

Use the game’s mode descriptions: campaign provides challenges, survival emphasizes changing pressure, and sandbox lets you experiment.

Is audio identical to the original?

This reviewed adaptation omits music while retaining synthetic game tones. It is based on the MIT-licensed pshenok/server-survival source.
