Use the vel.gg BO1 Zombies map selector to choose a browser project, then wait for that map’s download before starting. Our 11 October 2026 desktop check reached the Kino der Toten start prompt. Mouse capture failed in the automated browser, so this guide covers navigation and launch preparation, not a verified complete combat round. You do not need to purchase Radiant Optimizer to open the selector.
Which project and maps this guide covers
The selector was shared as BO1 Zombies in the Radiant Optimizer games list. We observed ten map links, including Kino der Toten and Moon. We chose one map for a deeper check; ten links do not mean ten maps have been played successfully. Use the current selector to see which map choices are available. An observed map name is a way to identify the destination, not proof of a specific original-game version or publisher endorsement.
There are also separate Moon and Kino der Toten pages.dev entries in the source post. Those links reached redirect pages in our source review. They are not the same addresses as the selector’s maps. A redirect at one address says nothing conclusive about a similarly named map reached through vel.gg. Keep the URL with any error report so those cases do not get mixed together.
Choose a map and wait for the download
Open the selector in a desktop window and choose one map. In our check, selecting Kino started a second download stage before a start button appeared. Leave that page open and watch the visible progress instead of repeatedly clicking other maps. A successfully loaded selector only establishes the first step; the selected map still needs its own resources and a working runtime.
The selector also showed a high-round option. Leave extra challenge settings off during your first input check. First determine whether the page reaches its start prompt, captures input and responds to the project’s controls. If the download appears stuck, note the last percentage or message and the chosen map. A new tab can restart the transfer; it does not establish that the initial one had finished.
Start prompts and mouse input
After loading finishes, click the project’s Start control in the active window. Pointer lock is the browser feature that keeps mouse movement inside a first-person scene. It normally needs a direct user gesture. Keep the game tab in focus, then check the project’s displayed controls before assuming a key fires, moves or opens a menu. This check did not validate a complete key map.
Our browser reached the Kino prompt but reported that its root document was not valid for pointer lock. We stopped there rather than labeling combat as tested. If you encounter a capture problem in an ordinary desktop browser, keep its protections enabled, return to the project’s menu and retry its start action once after loading. Record the exact error if it persists. Do not disable browser isolation or install an unknown workaround to force a launch.
What we checked and where we stopped
| Step | Recorded result on 11 October 2026 |
|---|---|
| Map selector | Visible; ten map links observed. |
| Kino download | Reached the separate start prompt. |
| Mouse capture | Blocked in the automated browser. |
| Combat, later rounds and other maps | Not verified. |
This is a desktop Chrome observation recorded on the stated date. We did not test every map, multiplayer, a saved run or a full round. A project update can change the loading sequence or controls. When reporting a later result, identify the map, URL and date rather than extending this observation to the whole collection.
Mobile status and browser requirements
We have not verified touch aiming or movement on a phone or tablet. A visible page on a small screen does not prove comfortable gameplay. Check the project’s current input instructions, allow enough time for the download and confirm that the needed controls are available before committing to a long session. A hardware keyboard and mouse are the setup used for the deeper desktop checks here.
For an in-site alternative, Underrun provides a separate keyboard action game with its own instructions. Breakout provides a different arcade challenge. Return to the full browser-project list for file requirements and the Surfd or QuakeWorld launch guides. These are separate experiences, not copies of BO1.
