Minecraft in Elden Ring: Minecraft Ring Setup Guide

Minecraft in Elden Ring is the player task behind Minecraft Ring, an experimental PC mod that connects Minecraft Java with an offline Elden Ring session. This guide covers version checks, control switching and the author-documented backup and recovery workflow.

An independent guide to an external game. Play and account actions stay on the original service.

What Minecraft in Elden Ring requires

Minecraft Ring is siddoff’s experimental Windows bridge between Minecraft Java and Elden Ring. Both games run together; it is not a browser port. This guide is tied to version 0.3.0 at source revision 711015a. Cozcade has reviewed the author’s documentation but has not installed the bridge on a Windows game PC.

Before changing any files, decide whether you want this two-game bridge or an ordinary Minecraft map. They solve different tasks. A Minecraft map can be opened in Minecraft; the bridge needs both games and its own setup. Keep the project’s exact repository and revision alongside your notes so a later tutorial does not silently replace the instructions you used.

Supported versions for Minecraft in Elden Ring

The author’s target is Windows x64, Elden Ring App 1.17.1 with executable 2.7.1.0, and Minecraft Java 1.21.1. The specified loader/API versions are Fabric 0.19.5 and 0.116.17+1.21.1. The listed build tools are Python 3, LLVM-MinGW, JDK 25 and Gradle 9.7.1. You need your own copies of both games; other combinations are unverified.

Make a preflight note containing your operating system, both game versions and the source revision. Check each against the setup guide before proceeding. A newer game build is not automatically compatible with a bridge that targets exact hooks. If any required version differs, stop and check an author update instead of combining instructions from two releases.

Prepare an installation and recovery record

The setup document uses a fixed local toolchain layout and a source build. Its first dependency build requires network access; an offline build is appropriate after those dependencies are cached. The installer backs up saves and records moved mod files. Preserve the original installation record and its matching backup.

Before installing, write down the game folder you intend to modify and keep a separate copy of the saves you would need to recover. Identify where your current mods came from. After following the author’s setup, check that the expected files and records exist. Do not equate an installer window closing with a verified restore point.

Switch controls without confusing the two games

The author documents F8 for switching control between Minecraft and Elden Ring, R for native interaction, E for inventory and F5 for camera views. The supported workflow is offline single-player, keeps Minecraft windowed and refuses activation with Easy Anti-Cheat present.

When checking controls, try one action at a time and record which game currently has focus. Confirm movement, then inventory, then the control switch. If a key has no effect, first determine which window received it. A focus problem should not be reported as a broken world or missing inventory. Do not assume multiplayer support from a successful local launch.

Treat an update and a restore as different operations

The installation document says routine updates rebuild the bridge components while retaining the original installation record. Re-running installation replaces that record and makes restoration harder to reason about. Restore returns recorded mod files but does not apply save backups, and the bridge’s Minecraft worlds remain on disk.

Choose the recovery task you actually need: disabling the bridge, restoring a previous mod setup, recovering an Elden Ring save, or retaining a Minecraft build. Keep those records separate. Follow the author’s Restore instructions, inspect the resulting files and test the intended original game state before deleting any backup. This is an author-source preparation guide, not a Cozcade-tested Windows installation report.

Collect useful information for a startup or rendering problem

The author provides separate native and Minecraft logs. The diagnostics document describes bridge state and regression checks; the changelog records terrain, window and control improvements in 0.3.0. Link the precise revision when reporting a symptom rather than saying only that you used the latest version.

A useful issue note includes the versions, GPU and driver, source revision, launch step, focused window and a short repeatable sequence. For collision trouble, describe the location and direction of movement. For a black window, describe whether the original game, launcher and Minecraft client remain responsive. Share only the relevant log excerpt after checking it for personal file paths or account data.

Looking for Minecraft map creation instead?

MapMC helps with the separate task of creating Minecraft maps from real locations. It is not the Minecraft Ring installer and does not convert Elden Ring’s map. Use that link when your goal is a map-building project; use the author repository when your goal is this experimental two-game bridge.

For a short building session in the browser, Cozcade also has creative games. They do not test Minecraft Ring compatibility. Use the author’s repository for the bridge itself and the troubleshooting notes for your supported setup; return to the exact requirements before upgrading either original game.

Minecraft in Elden Ring questions

Is Minecraft Ring a browser game or a Bedrock add-on?

No. The checked author version is an experimental Windows x64 bridge between Elden Ring and Minecraft Java Edition. Both original games run locally.

Which versions does this guide cover?

The checked 0.3.0 source lists Elden Ring App 1.17.1 / executable 2.7.1.0 and Minecraft Java 1.21.1. Other builds are unverified by that compatibility record.

Does Restore restore my Elden Ring save automatically?

The author distinguishes restoring previously moved mod files from manual save recovery. Preserve the save backup separately and read the installation guide before making either change.

Does MapMC install this bridge?

No. MapMC serves the separate task of making Minecraft maps from real locations. Use the author repository for Minecraft Ring setup.
