What is The Sift in Minecraft?
The Sift is the dimension featured in Minecraft Dungeons II. That action RPG is a separate game from the building and survival sandbox Minecraft. The official Dungeons II overview places its adventure across the Overworld and this new dimension. A Minecraft-themed setting does not mean the same feature is available in every Minecraft game.
First check the exact game name on your launcher or store page. If it says Minecraft Dungeons II, use the Dungeons II access notes below. If you are playing Java Edition or Bedrock Edition, use the future-update notes. A guide for one game is not an installation or unlock instruction for the other.

Is The Sift available now?
Minecraft Dungeons II launched on September 29, 2026. The official launch article lists Windows, Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X and Nintendo Switch 1 and 2. The Sift belongs to that released adventure. Check the official product page for your platform and edition before purchasing; this guide does not sell game access.
For Minecraft Java and Bedrock, the September 26 Minecraft Live recap announces The Sift for the following year: 2027. The cited announcement does not specify an exact release day, version number or portal recipe. Treat the year as an announced plan, not a countdown to a confirmed date.

How do you enter The Sift in Dungeons II?
The official Minecraft Live recap describes rifts around the Dungeons II world that transport heroes into The Sift. It names the Meadow and the Carapace as examples of its areas. This establishes the kind of entrance and two region names; it does not establish a complete route from the start of the game.
Use your current quest objective and in-game world map to orient yourself. The gameplay-systems article describes connected regions, main and side quests, and map navigation. If you are stuck, note the quest title, current objective and region before comparing a walkthrough. This page has not verified a required level, exact coordinates or a universal unlock sequence.

Can you build a Sift portal in Java or Bedrock?
The planned Java and Bedrock update is a separate release from Dungeons II. The official recap confirms the future dimension but does not provide construction steps. An existing Nether or End portal tutorial is not evidence for a Sift portal. We have no verified vanilla portal recipe to publish as of this check.
Before following a video, check whether it shows Dungeons II, an official preview build or a community mod. Look for the edition, full version and any mod requirements in its description. A fan project can use the same name without proving how the future vanilla feature will work. Preserve a backup before experimenting with a world.
Regions, mobs and exploration notes
The Dungeons II launch article confirms friendly and hostile beings in The Sift and describes illagers operating there. It does not supply a complete bestiary or drop table. The Meadow and Carapace names come from the Live recap; they should not be treated as a confirmed Java or Bedrock biome list.
For your own exploration notes, record the game version, area, objective and what you directly observed. Separate a creature name shown by the game from a nickname used in a video. Keep Dungeons II screenshots apart from Java or Bedrock previews. Detailed enemy counters, loot odds and boss routes need version-specific playtesting before being added here.

Choose your next step
To explore now, follow the official Dungeons II page and check whether its platform requirements fit your device. To follow the Java or Bedrock update, use the dated Live announcement and later official release notes. Save any guide you use with its game name and check date so a later update does not silently change the meaning of its instructions.
For a different Minecraft project, our Minecraft Ring guide covers an experimental PC bridge to Elden Ring. MapMC helps create Minecraft maps from real places. Neither unlocks The Sift. If you want a short creative session in your browser instead, the linked Cozcade creative games are separate games with their own controls.
